SO AS WE CAN SEE, PROGRESS STILL GOES ON HERE IN HUBER HEIGHTS. UH, JUST A COUPLE OF THINGS THIS EVENING. UH, I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYBODY WAS CAUGHT UP AND I THINK EVERYBODY IS REGARDING THE WATER SOFTENER, UH, THAT HAS BEEN IN PLACE. IT'S A GIGANTIC WATER SOFTENER TO, UH, TO THE ENTIRE WATER SYSTEM. UH, IT'S A MEMBRANE SYSTEM, NOT ASSAULT BASED SYSTEM. WE'RE NOT ADDING ANY TYPE OF, UH, SALTS OR CHRISTMAS SETTLES INTO WATER. IT USES A SERIES OF MEMBRANE FILTERS TO FILTER OUT THE, UM, UH, THE DEPOSITS AND THE HARDNESS AND THE SCALE AND THE WATER. UH, WE'VE RECEIVED A LOT OF POSITIVE FEEDBACK ALREADY. UH, MANY RESIDENTS HAVE CONTACTED, I KNOW SOME OF YOU COUNCIL MEMBERS AS WELL AS OUR WATER DEPARTMENT AND SOME STAFF, UH, INDICATING THAT THEY'VE NOTED A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THE WATER. SO, UH, WE CERTAINLY AT THIS POINT CALL THAT PROJECT A SUCCESS, SOMETHING THAT THE COMMUNITY HAD ASKED FOR AND SOMETHING THAT, UH, THIS COUNCIL AND THIS GOVERNMENT WAS POSITIVE TOO. AND, UH, IN SHORT ORDER, A LITTLE BIT AHEAD OF SCHEDULE AND UNDER BUDGET, WE'VE GOT A SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING. SO, UH, MANY THINGS TO, UH, TO RUSS, UH, HIS STAFF TO THE CONTRACTORS AND AS WELL, UH, AND AS ALWAYS, PAM, HER LEADERSHIP AND ALL OF HER CREW AT, UH, AT SUEZ FOR HELPING EVERYBODY FACILITATE THIS, THAT, UH, THAT, THAT LARGE SCALE PROJECT. SO, UH, THE OTHER THING THAT I HAVE REAL QUICK IS IT JUST WANTED TO REVIEW SOME OF THE, UH, OVERVIEWS REGARDING SOME OF THE OUTREACH, UH, PRIMARILY ON SOCIAL MEDIA, BUT ALSO INCLUDING SOME OF OUR OTHER ONLINE PRESENCE, UH, SPECIFIC AROUND, UM, RAIN EVENTS IN THE LAST WEEK, UH, IN DISCUSSIONS FOCUSED AROUND A CORONAVIRUS IMPACT, ET CETERA. UH, 52% OF THOSE WERE ALONG THE CITY'S DISCOURSE, UH, ONLINE PROGRAMS SUCH AS A FACEBOOK WEBSITE, ET CETERA. UH, THERE WAS A LOT OF LEADING TOPICS. 51% OF THOSE HAD TO DO WITH PUBLIC EVENTS, UH, AND OR, UH, FESTIVALS, CONCERTS, ET CETERA. I'LL HAVE THE DISCUSSION COMMUNICATION ABOUT THAT. UH, AND THERE WAS ABOUT 24% OF THAT WAS AROUND PUBLIC HEALTH WHERE, UH, PRIMARILY THE FIRE AND POLICE DIVISIONS ALONG WITH OTHER AGENCIES, UH, WERE RECOGNIZED AND GIVEN THANKS FOR THEIR, UH, FOR THEIR ATTENTION, UH, TO, UH, TO PEOPLE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. VERY SUPPORTIVE AS RESIDENTS JOINED IN AND THANKING, UH, MEDICAL STAFF OF ALL WALKS, INCLUDING OUR EMS AND FIRST RESPONDER PERSONNEL, UH, WITH WELL OVER 300 INTERACTIONS THERE. UH, WITH THE DOG PARK. THERE IS SOME ADDITIONAL, UM, MANEUVERS THAT NEED TO BE DONE, A LOT OF EXTRA TRIMMING, OBVIOUSLY, UH, WITH ALL THE FENCING AND SOME OF THE OTHER OBSTACLES. THE COMPANY IS WILLING TO DO IT AT NO ADDITIONAL COST, MAINTAINING THE SAME COST OF THE CURRENT CONTRACT. OF COURSE WE HAVE, UH, THE OPTION TO CONTINUE THAT, UH, UNDER THE EXISTING AGREEMENT THAT IS APPROVED. OR IF COUNCIL WOULD LIKE US TO, UH, TO BID THAT OUT, UH, THEN WE WOULD NEED TO GO AHEAD AND BEGIN THAT PROCESS. I WAS ASKED A QUESTION. I KNOW THAT IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT PEOPLE TURN OFF THEIR SOFTNER AND FOR A WHILE AND SEE IF THEY CAN LIVE WITH THE NEW, UM, LEVEL OF SOFTNESS OR TO TURN IT DOWN HALFWAY. BUT I WAS ASKED WHAT WOULD, WHAT WOULD THEY NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE IF THEY DID NOTHING WITH THEIR SOMNER LEFT IT ON THEIR CURRENT SETTING. WOULD IT BE SOFTER? UH, IT'S ONLY GONNA GO TO ZERO. IT'S NOT GOING TO GO NEGATIVE REGARDING THE, UH, THE GRAMS PER GALLON. WHAT THAT, WHAT WILL HAPPEN IS THEIR WATER SOFTENER WILL REGENERATE, UH, MORE FREQUENTLY USE MORE WATER AND MORE SALT. SO THE WATER SOFTENER, UH, REGENERATES BASED ON A PROGRAMMED SCHEDULE BASED ON A CALCULATION OF WHAT YOU SET THAT HARDNESS LEVEL TO BE. SO MOST PEOPLE HAVE IT BASED ON OUR PREVIOUS SETTING OF 22 THAT WE NEED TO ADJUST IT TO SEVEN. IF THEY DON'T ADJUST IT, IT'S GOING TO STILL THINK IT THIS WATER SOFTENERS AND CONSTANTLY MEASURING SELF-ADJUSTING AT LEAST MOST HOME ONES ARE. MAYBE SOMEBODY HAS A SOPHISTICATED ONE OUT THERE THAT DOES THAT, BUT THE GENERAL SOFTENER IS GOING TO BE BASED ON WHAT SETTING YOU HAVE IT ON. AND IF YOU LEAVE IT THERE, IT'S JUST GOING TO REGENERATE AND GO THROUGH SALT MORE FREQUENTLY. ON TOP OF THAT, THE MIAMI COUNTY PROSECUTOR WAS NOT FAMILIAR NOR COMFORTABLE WITH MOVING FORWARD WITH THIS TYPE OF FORECLOSURE ARE MAYBE NOT THE PROSECUTOR, BUT THE, UH, THE BOARD OF REVISIONS, UH, THEY HAD NOT DONE IT BEFORE AND WE'VE BASICALLY BEEN WORKING ON A CLEARING AND IDENTIFYING THE LIENS AND THE TRUE UTENSIL TYPE ROLE, THE PROBATE SYSTEM, WHICH CAN TAKE SOME TIME AND HAS TAKEN SOME TIME. AND ALSO FINALLY WORKING WITH THE ENTITIES MIAMI COUNTY TO BE ABLE TO BRING THE PROGRAM, THE SAME MODEL THAT MR. LYONS, UH, BROUGHT TO US, THAT WAS REFERRED TO EARLIER WITH THE PARCEL HERE IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY. SO, UM, THAT'S YOU'RE, YOU'RE EXACTLY RIGHT. WE'VE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO DO THIS FOR SOME TIME, BUT WE'VE BEEN, UH, FACED WITH SOME OBSTACLES, SOME LEGAL OBSTACLES, UH, THROUGH PROPERTY OWNERSHIP, PROBATE PEOPLE UNFORTUNATELY PASSING AWAY, UH, RIGHT AS DEALS WERE GETTING READY TO GO. THIS IS THROUGH MIAMI COUNTY AND THEY DO NOT HAVE A LAND BANK, BUT UH, UH, BRIAN HAS MET WITH THEM AND UH, WE ARE NOW IN A POSITION WHERE THE COUNTY PROSECUTOR, THE BOARD OF REVISIONS AND THE SCHOOL BOARD HAVE ALL COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT WE DON'T JUST CLOSE ON THIS PROPERTY AND WIPE OUT THE PAST DEBT SCHOOLS THAT ALWAYS MODELED ON THIS. AND SO THIS PRESENTATION WAS JUST A BRIEF VIEW ON HOW UM, STAFF HAS RECOMMENDED TO THE CITY MANAGER THESE FUNDS BE SPENT. SO THERE IS NO SPECIFIC ASK FOR COUNCIL REGARDING MONDAY. WE JUST WANTED TO MAKE YOU AWARE THAT THIS PROJECT, UH, EXISTED AT LEAST CONCEPTUALLY AND THAT WE WANTED TO MOVE FORWARD WITH IT. SO THAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF TONIGHT'S PRESENTATION. OKAY. SO JUST TO MAKE SURE I'M UNDERSTANDING, CLARIFYING THERE IS NO ASK THE MONEY, IS THERE LEGISLATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN CREATED FOR THE MONEY? SO DO WE NEED TO HAVE ANY OFFICIAL APPROVAL, UM, FOR MONDAY'S MEETING OR IS THIS JUST BY A SHOW OF NO OBJECTION THIS EVENING?
