I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT BREAK. HOPE YOU ALL HAD A VERY GOOD CHRISTMAS AND HOLIDAY AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR, AND LOOK FORWARD TO STARTING OFF 2026 WITH A BANG AND ALL THE GREAT THINGS WE GOT GOING ON HERE IN THE CITY.

MAYOR AND COUNCIL. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY. A COUPLE OF ITEMS HERE REAL QUICKLY OFF THE BAT JUST TO REVIEW THE END OF 2025 THERE.

WE WE HAD OUR TREE LIGHTING, OUR PARADE. SARAH AND STAFF FINALLY GOT ME SOME, SOME PRETTY INTERESTING NUMBERS, SO I THOUGHT I'D SHARE THOSE WITH YOU. SO IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT.

WE HAD A REALLY, REALLY WELL ATTENDED PARADE.

WE HAD ALMOST 3000 SPECTATORS ON THE PARADE ROUTE WITH 141 ENTRIES.

SO AGAIN, CINDY DAVIDSON AND HER GROUP JUST HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK.

JUST REALLY JUST A REALLY NICE EVENT. EVERYBODY CAME TO THIS AREA HERE AROUND THE GOVERNANCE CENTER.

WE HAD OUR TREE LIGHTING, AND IF YOU WERE ABLE TO CATCH IT, THE DRONE SHOW, WHICH WAS 15 MINUTES, THAT WAS JUST REALLY AWESOME. I REALLY I MEAN, IT WAS WE'RE GOING TO TRY AND INCORPORATE THAT.

I'VE ALREADY TALKED TO THE, THE STAFF AND WE'RE TRYING TO WORK SOMETHING OUT FOR NEXT YEAR AGAIN.

SO A REALLY GOOD DRONE SHOW. TREE LIGHTING WENT OFF WITHOUT A HITCH.

SOME ENGINEERING UPDATES RUSS PROVIDED FOR ME THIS WEEK.

WE DID RECEIVE A $500,000 GRANT FROM THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION, WHICH IS FOR THE INSTALLATION.

IF YOU REMEMBER, RUSS LAST YEAR TALKED ABOUT TRYING TO GET SOME REDUNDANCIES IN PLACE AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE.

SO WE ARE WE WERE SET TO RUN A 24 INCH LINE PARALLEL TO THE ONE THAT'S ON TAYLORSVILLE ROAD AS A REDUNDANT BACKUP FOR SOME OF OUR AGING INFRASTRUCTURE THERE.

IT'S GOING TO COME DIRECTLY FROM THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT.

IT IT WILL TIE RIGHT IN. AND THAT IS ONE OF THE MAIN SUPPLIES TO THE REST OF THE CITY.

SO THE PROJECT ITSELF IS $2.4 MILLION. IT'S SET TO BEGIN IN EARLY 2027.

ALSO THE CURRENT WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECTS GOING ON. THEY ARE FINISHED UP ON KIRK VIEW. THEY'RE ALMOST DONE ON LEE WOOD, AND THEN THEY'RE GOING TO MOVE TO THE MONDAY VILLAGE RIGHT AFTER THAT. SO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGAIN, WE HAD A REALLY, REALLY SOLID YEAR. JUST REALLY PROUD OF THE WORK THAT ALEX AND JASON HAVE CONTINUED TO DO THERE.

GETTING INTO THE BUSINESSES, DOING SOME BUSINESS RETENTION VISITS.

WE'VE HAD SOME REALLY GOOD CONVERSATIONS. THE GUYS WERE OUT TODAY.

THEY MET WITH MEYER AND SOME OTHERS BUT SOME REALLY GOOD NUMBERS.

AGAIN, FOR TOTAL NEW BUSINESSES FOR 2025, WE HAD 36 NEW BUSINESSES COMPARING THAT BACK TO 2024, WHERE WE HAD 30 NEW BUSINESSES OPEN. THEN WE ALSO JUST AS WE AS WE TALK ABOUT GRANTS, I JUST WANT YOU GUYS TO KNOW HOW HOW IMPORTANT STAFF KNOWS THAT GRANTS ARE JASON'S GROUP, THEY WERE ABLE TO GET $150,000 GRANT FOR AN EXPANSION OF A CURRENT BUSINESS, WHICH IS PBS UPON EXECUTIVE. THAT WAS THROUGH THE DAYTON DEVELOPMENT COALITION.

AND THEN WE ALSO GOT ONE OF THE FIRST EVER GRANTS REALLOCATED THROUGH EDGE TO ASSIST WITH HIGH TECH COMING IN UP OFF OF 235. SO AGAIN, REALLY GOOD JOB BY BY THAT GROUP.

SOME FUTURE THINGS YOU'LL SEE. I KNOW IN THE IN THE PAST YEAR, YOU SAW THE WEBSITE VIDEOS THAT WE PUT TOGETHER WITH TIFF AND NCA.

WE HAVE MORE OF THOSE VIDEOS COMING TO EXPLAIN JUST JUST SOME ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOLS THAT WE USE AND ALSO SOME BUDGETARY TOOLS THAT ARE COMING.

OF A NEW ENGINE WITH THE FIRE DIVISION. KEITH, HOW ARE YOU, SIR? VERY GOOD. THANK YOU. AND THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME.

WE ARE HERE TO REQUEST AUTHORIZATION TO ORDER A NEW FIRE ENGINE THAT'S BEEN IN OUR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN FOR SEVERAL YEARS.

I WANTED TO POINT OUT A COUPLE THINGS. IS IN 2023, YOU AUTHORIZED US TO BUY A NEW ENGINE AT A COST OF $751,893, WITH AN ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME OF 28 TO 34 MONTHS.

WITH ALL THE THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED IN THE WORLD THE SUFFERING THAT CAME TO US EARLY LAST SPRING AND SAID THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO MEET THAT DEADLINE THEY OFFERED US AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXIT OUT OF THE CONTRACT WITH WITH NO WORRIES.

WE KIND OF HELD OUR GROUND AND SAID, WE THINK THAT, YOU KNOW, WE COULD PROBABLY FIGURE SOMETHING OUT, AND WE WE WE NEGOTIATED BACK AND FORTH. ASSISTANT CHIEF MULL AND I WITH SUFFERN AND ESSENTIALLY WE TRIED TO COME UP WITH A DEAL THAT WAS A GOOD DEAL FOR BOTH PARTIES.

AND WHAT THAT WAS IS, IS THAT IF YOU ALL WOULD APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A NEW FIRE ENGINE THAT HAS BEEN IN THE CIP FOR FOR A FEW YEARS, IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR, THEY WOULD BUILD US A SECOND FIRE ENGINE AT A COST OF $880,361.75, ROUGHLY A 17% INCREASE. AND THEY WOULD DELIVER BOTH FIRE ENGINES IN NOVEMBER OF THIS YEAR.

SO INSTEAD OF ORDERING TODAY AND WAITING 42 MONTHS WITH THE PROJECTED COST OF JUST OVER $1 MILLION FOR A 40 FOR AN ENGINE THAT'S GOING TO BE DELIVERED IN 42 MONTHS, WE'RE GOING TO WE COULD ORDER ONE THIS THIS MONTH FOR $880,000 AND HAVE BOTH PIECES OF EQUIPMENT IN IN NOVEMBER OF

2026. THEY'RE GOING TO SAVE SOME MONEY ON IT.

TO GO TO A SUMMER MEETING SCHEDULE FOR 2026, MEANING WE WOULD ONLY HAVE ONE SERIES OF MEETINGS IN BOTH JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST.
