THERE IS SOME REALLY NICE HIGHLIGHTS COMING UP HERE.

THE FIRST ONE IS THE FIRE DIVISION.

WE RECENTLY -- LIEUTENANT WALL WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE ROLLOUT OF THIS. THE CHIEF AND HIS STAFF, THEY ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR GRANT DOLLARS. SO WHAT YOU SEE HERE IS NEW PORTABLE RADIOS, THE CURRENT RADIOS THAT WE HAVE WERE AT THE END OF THEIR LIFE BY OUR MANUFACTURER. SO, THEY WENT OUT, WE GOT NEW PORTABLE RADIOS FOR ALL OF OUR FIREFIGHTERS. WE HAVE NEW MOBILE RADIOS IN ALL OF OUR APPARATUS TO THE TUNE OF $370,000. THAT'S A BIG NUMBER.

BUT KEITH'S GROUP WAS ABLE TO GET ASSISTANCE FIREFIGHTERS GRANT WHICH COVERED 90% OF THAT COST. WE REALLY PAID 10% FOR BASICALLY A NEW RADIO SYSTEM FOR THE CITY AND THE LIFE EXPECTANCY FOR THOSE IS MANY YEARS DOWN THE ROAD. SO, REALLY JUST A GOOD HIGHLIGHT THERE. SECOND, YOU KNOW, I KNOW WE ALWAYS APPRECIATE THE THINGS PARKS AND REC DO. SARAH HAS DONE A PHENOMENAL JOB JUST WITH PROGRAMMING, WITH JUST EVERYTHING THAT GOES ON IN OUR PARKS, BUT TWO REALLY NEAT THINGS TO NOTE, RECENTLY SHE GOT TWO GRANTS AWARDED FROM ODNR.

THE FIRST ONE $100,000 FOR THE REMOVAL OF INVASIVE SPECIES IN OUR RIGHT OF WAYS. THE NICE PART ABOUT THAT IS THOSE WILL BE REPLACED WITH OTHER TREES, SO I KNOW, YOU KNOW, EARLIER THIS WEEK WE SAW ON FACEBOOK SOME PEOPLE -- I WILL SAY THAT OUR STAFF WAS QUICK TO TRY AND START THE PROCESS. WE SINCE SLOWED THEM DOWN UNTIL WE CAN AT LEAST GET AN INFORMATIONAL CAMPAIGN OUT THERE TO NOTIFY EVERYBODY, WE'RE NOT JUST CUTTING TREES DOWN, 'RE TAKING ONES OUT THAT BY STATE LAW NEED TO BE REMOVED AND WE'RE REPLACING THEM WITH SOMETHING THAT IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT BETTER.

THE SECOND ONE IS, YOU GUYS PRIOR TO OUR ADMINISTRATION HAD AGREED TO BUY THE NINE ACRES ADJACENT TO CLOUD PARK. WE HAVE BEEN PAYING EARNEST MONEY PAYMENTS ON THAT.

WE HAVE GOTTEN A GRANT FOR OVER $100,000 TO FINISH THAT ACQUISITION. WE'RE BRINGING $100,000 TO THAT PROJECT AS WELL. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER WITH THE DIRECTION THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IS GOING AND JASON AND ALEX DO A PHENOMENAL JOB. A LITTLE HIGHLIGHT OF WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.

JASON CONTINUES TO GO OUT AND VISIT OUR BUSINESSES.

I THINK IT IS REALLY HELPFUL WHEN THEY BRING THINGS UP AND THEY HAVE ISSUES OR CONCERNS, JASON IS USUALLY ABLE TO POINT THEM IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION OR AT LEAST GIVE THEM SOME INFORMATION TO HELP.

SO, THE BUSINESS RETENTION AND EXPANSION PROGRAM IS GOING VERY WELL.

THE NEXT SECTION YOU'LL SEE THERE IS WE GOT 32 NEW BUSINESSES THAT HAVE OPEN ED IN THE CITY THROUGH 2025.

30 NEW BUSINESSES OPENED IN 2024.

JASON CONTINUED TO DEVELOP HIS SKILL SET.

HE'S ATTENDED A LOT OF MEETINGS.

HE'S GOING TO A TRAINING TOMORROW IN COLUMBUS. SO, AGAIN, JASON CONTINUES TO WORK HARD. NEXT SLIDE.

THE NCA VIDEO WE SHARED WITH YOU GUYS, WE SHOWED THAT AS WE WERE DOING OUR CUPS AND CONVERSATIONS. IT IS ON THE WEBSITE.

AND THEN ALSO DR. FRED AND ME AND ALEX AND JASON MET YESTERDAY. OUR GRANT PROGRAM IS OFF AND RUNNING IF YOU WILL. WE GOT 29 QUALIFIED APPLICANTS AND THE FOUR OF US ARE TRYING TO WORK THROUGH THAT THAT LOOKS LIKE AND GET THE AWARDS DONE BY THE END OF THE YEAR.

THE LAST ONE IS REALLY AGAIN JUST A TESTAMENT TO ALEX AND JASON. THE DATE AND DEVELOPMENT COALITION, WE WERE ABLE TO APPLY FOR AND AWARD A GRANT FOR $150,000 FOR ONE OF OUR CURRENT BUSINESSES TO EXPAND. THEY'RE EXPANDING AND RETAINING 75 JOBS, BUT ALSO WITH THAT EXPANSION GOING TO CREATE 50 NEW JOBS. AND WITH THAT, THAT'S GOING TO REPRESENT ABOUT 6. 25 MILLION IN NEW PAYROLL. WE TALKED A LITTLE BIT AGO WITH YOU GUYS ABOUT OTHER BUSINESSES MOVING INTO THE CITY.

ONE OF THE BUSINESSES IS COMING TO US WHO WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO GO TO ANOTHER JURISDICTION IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY.

WE WERE ABLE TO FIND A PLACE FOR THEM TO RELOCATE TO AN EXISTING BUILDING.

THAT MOVE FROM THE OTHER JURISDICTION HAD INITIALLY AN EDGE GRANT ATTACHED TO IT AWARDED IN 2024.

WE ACTUALLY -- THIS IS THE FIRST TIME MONTGOMERY COUNTY HAS EVER REOPENED AN EDGE APPLICATION AND REALLOCATED FUNDS TO A BUSINESS THAT MOVED AND WE WERE AUTOMOBILE TO GET ABLE TO GET THAT DONE TO THE TUNE OF $150,000. THE TOP ONE THERE, $150,000 FROM THE DDC, WE ASSISTED AND BEEN IN CONTACT WITH PVS TO EXPAND THEIR OPERATION UP ON EXECUTIVE AND HIGH TECH IS THE BOTTOM BUSINESS. THEY'RE GOING TO MOVE OUT IN -- RIGHT ACROSS FROM -- IT IS ON COCA-COLA BOULEVARD, ACROSS FROM BEST ONE TIRE, WHERE THE OLD AMR FACILITY USED TO BE.

THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE OVER THAT FACILITY AS WELL. AGAIN, WITH THAT MOVE, YOU SEE 67 NEW JOBS COMING IN, REPRESENTING ABOUT 5 MILLION NEW ADDITIONAL PAYROLL AS WELL.

THESE ARE SMALL BUSINESSES, OPEN IN OUR COMMUNITY, THAT'S FANTASTIC. THOSE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE SPENDING THEIR HARD-EARNED MONEY, MAKING AN INVESTMENT IN HUBER HEIGHTS, TAKING A LOT OF RISK WHEN IT COMES TO OPENING NEW BUSINESS OR BEING ENTREPRENEUR, CHANGING FROMA FULL- TIME EMPLOYEE TO A FULL- TIME EMPLOYEE PLUS A NEW BUSINESS AND THEN MAYBE A PART- TIME EMPLOYEE TO OPENING A NEW BUSINESS. AGAIN, JUST BECAUSE IT ISN'T SOMEBODY THAT IS GENERATING $10 MILLION WORTH OF REVENUE, EVERY BUSINESS THAT OPENS IS A SUCCESS STORY.

WITHOUT A DOUBT. WITHOUT A DOUBT.

I'LL GO BACK AND WE HAD OUR MAYORS AND MANAGERS MEETING UP AT THE VAN CLEVE PLACE IN WHAT WAS A YEAR AND A HALF AGO, AND THE MAYOR OF TIP CITY WAS THERE AND WE WERE AT THE TABLE WITH BROOKS AND WAYNE FROM CENTERVILLE AND AFTER OUR PRESENTATION, THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT HOW ARE WE MAKING A LOT OF THESE THINGS HAPPENING, WE HAD THE DISCUSSION, AND THE TIP CITY MAYOR AND MANAGER WAS THERE AND JUST IN THE PAPER TWO OR THREE DAYS AGO, THEY HAVE BOUGHT THAT SHOPPING CENTER UP THERE,

THEY'RE ROLLING THAT WITH AN NCA TO PAY FOR THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE BUILDING, AND GENERATE ALL THE NEW BUSINESSES THAT IS GOING TO COME THERE, GENERATE NEW GROCERY STORE THAT IS GOING TO COME THERE, SO WHAT WE'RE DOING THE RIGHT THINGS.

AND WE'RE DOING THINGS THAT OTHER CITIES ARE MODELING SO THEY CAN DO -- AND THEY CAN HAVE THE SUCCESS THEY HAVE SEEN US DO HERE.

AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN, THE BETTER ECONOMIC VIABILITY WE HAVE AS AN ENTIRE REGION HELPS ALL OF US, DOESN'T JUST HELP HUBER HEIGHTS OR DOESN'T JUST HELP THOSE INDIVIDUAL COMMUNITIES.

THE BETTER WE ARE AS A REGION ECONOMICALLY, THE BETTER IT IS FOR EVERYBODY AND THE BETTER IT IS FOR US HERE.

SO, I JUST COULDN'T BE MORE HAPPY, MORE PROUD THAT WE ARE TAKING THE LEAD AND SETTING AN EXAMPLE OF HOW WE'RE DOING THINGS HERE AND THEN WATCHING OTHER COMMUNITIES DO THE EXACT SAME THING AND I WISH THEM NOTHING BUT SUCCESS IN HOW THEY DO IT.

SO, I CERTAINLY WANTED TO MAKE MENTION OF THAT. THAT'S A BIG DEAL FOR THEM.

AND I THINK THAT PLAN IS GOING TO WORK PERFECT FOR THEM.

>> THANK YOU. I'LL START WITH THE YMCA UPDATES. THEY ARE CURRENTLY SERVING -- SORRY, THEY PREVIOUSLY SERVED 1,698 PRESCHOOLERS, YOUTH, TEENS AND ADULTS IN SWIM LESSONS AND 1,666 YOUTH AND SPORTS THIS YEAR.

THE YMCA CURRENTLY HAS 10,800 ACTIVE MEMBERS AND SUMMER DAY CAMPS SERVED 1 15 KIDS WEEKLY.

THE CHILD CARE IS CURRENTLY PROVIDING THE BEFORE AND AFTER CARE SERVICES FOR WORKING PARENTS IN THE HUBER HEIGHTS SCHOOL DISTRICT, MAD RIVER SCHOOL DISTRICT AND BETHEL LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT AND PROVIDE PRESCHOOL AT STUDEBAKER.

THE KROGER AQUATICS CENTER SERVED 34,565 GUESTS THIS PAST SEASON. THEY SERVED 250 KIDS IN THE SUMMER PLAYGROUND PROGRAM. WHICH TOOK PLACE AT SHOALGATE, COMMUNITY AND SHERMAN PARKS.

THE ANNUAL TRUNK OR TREAT EVENT HAD 4,507 VISITORS ON OCTOBER 26TH. ON OCTOBER 27TH, THE BUILDING EXPANSION WAS OPENED UP TO MEMBERS. THE SECOND GYMNASIUM IS BEING USED FOR OPEN PLAY, OLDER ADULT ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS LEAGUE.

THEY WILL BE HAVING AN OFFICIAL RIBBON CUTTING AND DEDICATION CEREMONY ON NOVEMBER 14TH.

AND ON NOVEMBER 12TH, THEY'LL ALSO BE HAVING A VETERANS RECOGNITION LUNCHEON. THE HUBER'S HAPPY HAUNTED TRAIL ON THE 24TH AND 25TH HAD 2,000 VISITORS OVER BOTH DAYS AND THE HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW HAD 28 VENDORS, 30 TABLES AND 590 SHOPPERS ON NOVEMBER 1ST. THERE WILL BE SURVEYS MAILED OUT TO AREA RESIDENTS REQUESTING THEIR INPUT ON THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO DONE WITH DIAL PARK, THEY SHOULD BE GOING OUT BY THE END OF THE YEAR.

TO THIS LOCATION. IT WILL BE A PHASED IN PROJECT.

SO AS CITY STAFF MOVES OUT OF THIS FACILITY INTO THE NEW GOVERNMENT CENTER, FINANCE WILL MOVE INTO THE EXISTING OFFICES ON THE SECOND FLOOR. AND IT IS PHASED ONCE WE GET A BID APPROVED TO START CONSTRUCTION.

CONSTRUCTION WILL START ON THE FIRST FLOOR.

SO TONIGHT I'M GOING TO BRIEFLY SHARE WHERE WE ARE WITH OUR NEW PROGRAM, THE HUBER HEIGHTS CITIZEN ACADEMY. WHAT IT INCLUDES AND WHAT IS NEXT AS WE PREPARE TO LAUNCH THE PROGRAM IN 2026. THIS IS DESIGNED TO INCREASE TRANSPARENCY, COMMUNITY CONNECTION AND CIVIC UNDERSTANDING.

THE CITIZENS ACADEMY GIVES HANDS ON LOOK ON HOW THE CITY WORKS.

EACH WEEK PARTICIPANTS LEARN DIRECTLY FROM CITY STAFF COVERING EVERYTHING FROM BUDGETING TO PARKS AND PUBLIC WORKS AND EVEN PUBLIC SAFETY.

THE GOAL IS TO MAKE CITY OPERATIONS MORE TRANSPARENT, UNDERSTAND HOW DECISIONS ARE MADE AND CREATE STRONGER RSHIPS BETWEEN STAFF AND THE COMMUNITY AND ALSO HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF FUN.

THE PROGRAM WILL RUN JANUARY 29TH THROUGH MARCH 19TH OF 2026.

AND IT WILL INCLUDE 7 SESSIONS PLUS A GRADUATION BECAUSE YOU GOT TO HAVE A PARTY AT THE END. SO EIGHT WEEKS IN TOTAL.

EACH CLASS WILL MEET ONCE A WEEK ON THURSDAY EVENINGS FROM 6:00 TO 8:00 P.M. OPEN TO HUBER HEIGHTS RESIDENTS WHO ARE 18 YEARS -- OR 18 AND OLDER, AND THERE IS NO COST TO PARTICIPATE.
