MEETING THIS MEETING IS CALLED TO ORDER AND WE'RE GETTING STARTED AT 6:01, NEXT WE HAVE INDICATION BY FROM LIVING MINISTRIES.

OUR IDENTITY IS NOT JUST SHAPED BY WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW, BUT BY OUR OPENNESS TO LEARNING, ADAPTING, EVOLVING, IT IS THAT WILLINGNESS THAT KEEPS US FROM STAGNATION AND ALLOWS US TO CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE BOTH PERSONALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. ALL RIGHT, BORN AND RAISED IN HUBER HEIGHTS GRADUATED FROM BETHEL HIGH SCHOOL IN MIAMI VALLEY CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAM. GRADUATED FROM SINCLAIR POLICE ACADEMY JUNE 2024 EARNED AN ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE. HE LOVES BEING IN THE HELP SERVE AND PROTECT THE COMMUNITY OF HUBER HEIGHTS EVERYDAY AND IT IS AN HONOR TO GET BACK TO THE CITY THAT WISDOM, CURRENTLY ASSIGNED TO PATROL AND ENJOYS THE CHALLENGE THE JOB RINGS, BEING ABLE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND HELP OTHERS DO SOMETHING IS ALWAYS WANTED TO DO, THE MOST REWARDING PART OF THE JOB, HE ENJOYS SPENDING TIME WITH HIS FAMILY, GOING TO THE LAKE, HE ENJOYS WORKING OUT AND STAYING ACTIVE.

HE BEGAN HIS CAREER AT THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SERVING AS A CORRECTIONS OFFICER INSIDE MONTGOMERY COUNTY JAIL, PREVIOUSLY EMPLOYED AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT EIGHT YEARS LAST SERVING AS A SERGEANT IN CHARGE OF PATROL OPERATIONS. PRIOR TO IMPLEMENT AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT HE WORKED THE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND CAMDEN POLICE DEPARTMENT. DURING HIS CAREER CERTIFIED AS FIELD TRAINING OFFICER , EVIDENCE TECHNICIAN, DRIVING INSTRUCTOR AND FAA LICENSED DRONE OPERATOR. IN HIS FREE TIME ENJOY SPENDING TIME WITH HIS FAMILY FISHING, HUNTING AND TRAVELING. EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEW CHAPTER IN THE SHORT TO SERVING THE GREAT CITIZENS OF HUBER HEIGHTS FOR THE REMAINDER OF HIS CAREER.

DREW METZGER. WAS HIRED AS A POLICE OFFICER AUGUST 26, 2024 GROWING UP DREW ALWAYS KNOW HE WANTED TO BE A POLICE OFFICER.

HE DID HIS FIRST RIDE ALONG AT 10 YEARS OLD AND ENJOY THE FACT THAT NO TWO DAYS ARE THE SAME. HE THEN JOINED HUBER HEIGHTS POLICE DIVISION EXPLORER PROGRAM AT THE AGE OF 14, HE DID THAT FIVE YEARS BEFORE ATTENDING EASTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY EARNING A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN HOMELAND SECURITY. DURING COLLEGE YEARS DREW CAME BACK TO HUBER HEIGHTS DIVISION AS AN INTERN AND WAS FORTUNATE TO LAND A JOB AS A POLICE OFFICER AT THE AGE OF 21. IN HIS FREE TIME THROUGH ENJOYS TRAVELING TO NEW PLACES, TRYING NEW FOODS AND LEARNING ABOUT NEW CULTURES. 'S CAREER GOAL AT THIS POINT IS TO BE A SPONGE AND ABSORB AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE ABOUT THE INS AND OUTS OF THIS JOB AND WHAT IT HAS TO OFFER. HOWEVER, LONG-TERM DREW WOULD LOVE TO JOIN ORIGINAL CROWD MANAGEMENT TEAM AS HE ENJOYS TALKING TO PEOPLE EVEN FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE THAN WHAT HE MAY AGREE WITH, DREW THINKS CROWD MANAGEMENT WOULD ALLOW HIM TO DO THAT AND TO BREAK BARRIERS DOWN WITH PEOPLE WHO MAY NOT ALWAYS VIEW POLICE IN A POSITIVE SPOTLIGHT. TURN WAS HIRED AS A POLICE OFFICER DECEMBER 9, 2024, DEDICATED AND PASSIONATE IN HIS CHOSEN CAREER , DARREN GRADUATED FROM SINCLAIR CRIMINAL JUSTICE POLICE ACADEMY NOVEMBER 2024. HE HAS DEVELOPED A DESIRE TO LEARN AND IMPROVE IN THE PROFESSION WITH THE CITY OF HUBER HEIGHTS. DARREN USED TO WORK AT GET AIR TRAVELING PARK WHERE HE BECAME THE ASSISTANT MANAGER. DARREN LEARNED HOW TO TALK TO PEOPLE AND HOW TO SOLVE PROBLEMS EFFICIENTLY WORKING IN TEAMS. HE RAISED OVER $1000 IN DONATIONS FOR AUTISM AWARENESS FOR THE SAINT JUDE FOUNDATION. OUTSIDE OF WORK DARREN ENJOYS KEEPING HIMSELF PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY FIT MY EXERCISING AND GOING TO THE GYM, HE ENJOYS RIDING DIRT BIKES ON TRAILS AND TRACKS IN HIS FREE TIME. GRACE WAS HIRED FOR HER FIRST EXPERIENCE DECEMBER 2, 2024 ALTHOUGH SHE'S FAMILIAR WITH THE AGENCY SINCE HER MOM AND DAD ARE BOTH RETIRED OFFICERS FROM THE POLICE DIVISION, GRACE IS A 2023 GRADUATE OF WAYNE HIGH SCHOOL WHO ENJOYS HER NEW POSITION, GRACE HAS A STRONG WORK ETHIC AND WANTS TO LEARN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND GROW INTO HER NEW POSITION. EMILY FEELS LIKE SHE EXCELS IN COMMUNICATION DUE TO PREVIOUS JOB EXPERIENCE. SHE DEALT WITH ANGRY PARENTS AND HAD TO LEARN HOW TO BE PATIENT TO SOLVE PROBLEMS TO THE BEST OF HER ABILITY. OTHER GRADUATION FROM BUTLER HIGH SCHOOL EMILY BEGAN TAKING CLASSES AT SINCLAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE, ONE YEAR OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE BEFORE SWITCHING TO BUSINESS. EMILY PLANS TO GET A CAREER IN BUSINESS AND CRINGE ARE WITH HER CAREER AS A DISPATCHER, IN THE FUTURE SHE WOULD LIKE TO OWN HER OWN COFFEE SHOP, EMILY ENJOYS GOING TO THE GYM AND SHE ENJOYS GOING TO COFFEE SHOPS, SHOPPING AND HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS.

SHE HAS A DOG A BROWN NEWFOUNDLAND , THE BIGGEST BABY IN THE WORLD, EMILY LEDBETTER. NOW ON TO PROMOTIONS. HEATHER FLORA, HEATHER JOINED HUBER HEIGHTS AS A DISPATCHER NOVEMBER 2019 AND WAS PROMOTED TO THE COMMUNICATIONS RECORDS SUPERVISOR POSITION OCTOBER 21, 2024. SHE HAS BEEN IN THIS CAREER FIELD OVER 10 YEARS AS A CERTIFIED COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING OFFICER. HEATHER OBTAINED ASSOCIATES DEGREE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND SERVED AS A POLICE OFFICER FOR TWO AND HALF YEARS, AWARDED CIVILIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD IN 2021, HEATHER AND HER HUSBAND WERE MARRIED IN 2021 AND WELCOMED THEIR FIRST BABY JULY 2024. HEATHER HAS ENJOYED HER TIME LETTING HER NEW ROLE AND LOOKS FORWARD TO WHERE IT MAY LEAD HER. HEATHER FLORA.

DAVID CULLIVER. DAVID WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT , HE HAS BEEN WITH HUBER HEIGHTS POLICE DIVISION NINE YEARS WITH 10 YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE. SINCE BEING HIRED DAVID HAS GRADUATED WITH HONORS FROM SINCLAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE WITH ASSOCIATES DEGREE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE. 'S FUTURE EDUCATIONAL GOALS TO CONTINUE EDUCATION TOWARD OBTAINING A MASTERS DEGREE IN LEADERSHIP. LATER THIS YEAR DAVID WILL ATTEND THE OHIO ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE SUPERVISOR TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAM. DURING HIS CAREER SERVING AS A CRASH INVESTIGATOR, FIELD TRAINING OFFICER, OFFICER IN CHARGE, DETECTIVE, SNIPER AND REGIONAL RESPONSE TEAM COMMANDER. CERTIFIED INTERNAL AFFAIRS INVESTIGATOR AND HAS COMPLETED TRAINING IN CRASH INVESTIGATIONS, LEADERSHIP AND SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS.

TONY TAKES PRIDE IN TRAINING NEW POLICE OFFICERS AND TAKING AN ACTIVE ROLE IN DEVELOPING POLICY AND PROCEDURES FOR THE EMERGENCY REGIONAL RESPONSE TEAM IN CRITICAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT, TONY ENJOYS HUNTING, FISHING, SPENDING TIME AT A CABIN IN WEST VIRGINIA FAMILY TIME WITH HIS GRANDKIDS.

AND JUST WHEN USING MOST PEOPLE , THE COUNCIL AND THE CITY KNOW WHEN IT COMES TO SERVICE WE HAVE WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE THE BEST IN THE REGION. SO HIRING THESE FOUR NEW PEOPLE , BIG SHOES TO FILL AND WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE, HAPPY YOU'RE HERE, HAPPY YOU'RE CHOSEN TO MAKE HUBER HEIGHTS A PLACE TO PRACTICE YOUR CRAFT AND AGAIN WE KNOW THAT IS NOT AN EASY JOB TO DO. IT TAKES A SPECIAL PERSON TO BE INVOLVED AND WE ARE INCREDIBLY LUCKY FOR THE POLICE FORCE WE HAVE, THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND LET'S NOT AT ALL FORGET ABOUT THE DISPATCHERS. THEIR THE FIRST LINE OF COMMUNICATION. SOMEBODY IS IN TROUBLE AND THE CALL, THESE ARE THE FOLKS THEY TALK TO. THAT IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT JOB KEEPING PEOPLE CALM, WALKING PEOPLE THROUGH THOSE SITUATIONS.

INCREDIBLE JOB TO DO. WE ALWAYS HEAR THE OFFICER MEETS SOMEBODY THAT'S THE WORST PART OF THEIR DAY IT MIGHT BE THE WORST PART OF THEIR YEAR. SO THE TRAINING AND ALL THE THINGS IS INCREDIBLE AND AGAIN WE HAVE TREMENDOUS FORCE AND I CANNOT BE MORE

FIRST IS A SHAMELESS PLUG FROM FIRE PREVENTION GROUP AT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. WE HAD SPRING FORWARD THIS PAST WEEKEND SO REMEMBER CHANGE THE BATTERIES IN YOUR SMOKE DETECTORS. SPEAKING OF PUBLIC SAFETY, WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OBVIOUSLY WE HAVE EVERYBODY HIRED LAST YEAR, BUT THE PROGRAM WE HAVE BEEN ANXIOUSLY AWAITING IS FINALLY OFF THE GROUND, THE NEW RECRUIT HIRED, THE FIRST IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT SO, ZACH STAPLETON WILL BE GOING TO THE ACADEMY, HE WILL GET OUT THIS YEAR AND JOIN FORCES AS THE FIRST HH PD RECRUIT SO WE WILL WELCOME HIM AS WELL.

EACH SHIFT, WE ARE REQUIRED TO DO SO MANY HOURS OF LIVE FIRE TRAINING AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO GET THOSE HOURS WITHOUT HAVING STRUCTURES GOING TO THE FACILITY LIKE THE TRAINING CENTER TO HAVE LIVE. WE WERE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET THE STRUCTURE. WE HAD TRAINING LAST WEEK THAT THURSDAY THEY BROUGHT THE STRUCTURE TO THE GROUND. AND AS I PROMISED, I WILL KEEP THIS PLUG GOING UNTIL IT'S OVER. I AM HERE TO EXPRESS EXTREME GRATITUDE AND THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP YOU HAVE GIVEN US IN DEVELOPING THIS NEW SENIOR CENTER FACILITY. IT IS AMAZING AND WE ARE SEEING EVERYONE RESPOND TO THAT AMAZEMENT. NUMBERS HAVE INCREASED, THE ITEMS AND ACTIVITIES THAT ARE PROPOSED ARE EXPANDING. PEOPLE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEW PLACE. SO AGAIN I WANT TO THANK YOU. THIS IS A TIME IN WHICH SENIOR CENTERS MUST REINVENT THEMSELVES. THINGS HAVE CHANGED. WE HAVE TO ENVISION A DIFFERENT IDEA OF WHAT A SENIOR CITIZEN IS NOT. WE SEE THEM AS INDIVIDUALS. WE SEE US AS INDIVIDUALS WHO SIT AROUND AND WATCH SOAP OPERAS AND KIND

OF WAIT FOR THE TIME TO PASS. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE PHYSICAL AS WELL AS MENTAL CHALLENGES AND PHYSICAL AND MENTAL SOLUTIONS TO HELP THEM LIVE NOT JUST A LIFESPAN, BUT A HEALTH SPAN. A LONG LIFE THAT IS HEALTHY. I WOULD LIKE TO BRIEFLY MENTION SOMETHING THAT REALLY STRUCK HOME TO ME. ONE DAY AN ELDERLY LADY CAME IN AND SHE SAID SHE HAD TO WALK QUITE A DISTANCE AND SHE MANAGED TO UNDERSTAND THERE WAS A SENIOR CENTER AND SHE WANTED TO BE WITH PEOPLE. SHE WAS LONELY. SO WE EXPLAINED ALL THE THINGS GOING ON AND SHE LOOKED AT US AND SAID ALL I WANT SOMEBODY TO CALL ME JUST TO CHECK ON ME. YOU MEAN I CAN COME IN AND PLAY CARDS AND I CAN TALK TO PEOPLE? IT IS THAT SORT OF THING THAT IS SO GRATIFYING WITH THE SENIOR CENTER. WE HAVE ESTABLISHED AN EXCELLENT PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP. HAVING WORKED WITH STATE GOVERNMENT IS THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH , UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF THIS AND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS AND HOW IT CAN SUPPORT OTHER ACTIVITIES WITH REGARDS TO GAINING. THERE HAS BEEN ABOUT $2.3 BILLION THAT HAS BEEN SOLICITED FOR THIS ACTIVITY AND I BELIEVE WE CAN WORK TOGETHER, TO GET A LOT OF THAT FUNDING TO EXPAND EVEN FURTHER, ALL THE THINGS WE CAN DO. I SAY THIS BECAUSE MY MOST IMPACTFUL STATEMENT IS THE FACT THAT INCREASING AGE SHOULD NEVER EQUAL DECREASING VALUE.
