WE'RE GOOD.

OKAY.

THANK

[1. Call The Meeting To Order - Mayor Jeff Gore]

YOU EVERYONE.

AND THIS IS THE CITY OF HUBER HEIGHTS, SUSTAINABLE OHIO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, REGULAR SESSION.

THIS IS OUR HYBRID IN-PERSON REMOTE MEETING.

TODAY'S DATE IS MARCH THE EIGHTH, 2021.

WE'RE GETTING STARTED AT ABOUT SEVEN OH THREE THIS EVENING.

AND OUR FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS IS TO CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER.

AND NUMBER TWO IS OUR INVOCATION, WHICH THIS EVENING WILL BE PASTOR RANDY GRIFFITH OF THE FREE METHODIST CHURCH AT 68 75 OLD TROY PIKE.

AND HE WRITES PASTOR GRIFFITH.

GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN, SIR.

THANK YOU.

FIRST TIMOTHY SIX 11 TO 12 SAYS PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS, GODLINESS, FAITH, LOVE ENDURANCE, AND GENTLENESS FIGHT.

THE GOOD FIGHT OF THE FAITH.

TAKE HOLD OF THE ETERNAL LIFE TO WHICH YOU WERE CALLED ON OCTOBER 11TH, 1798.

PRESIDENT JOHN ADAMS ADDRESSED THE OFFICERS OF THE FIRST GRADE OF THE THIRD DIVISION OF THE MILITIA OF MASSACHUSETTS AND A LETTER.

AND IN THAT LETTER HE SAID, WE HAVE NO GOVERNMENT ARMED WITH POWER CAPABLE OF CONTENDING WITH HUMAN PASSIONS, UNBRIDLED BY MORALITY AND RELIGION, AVARICE AMBITION, REVENGE OR GALLANTRY WOULD BREAK THE STRONGEST CORDS OF OUR CONSTITUTION.

AS A WHALE GOES THROUGH A NET.

OUR CONSTITUTION WAS MADE ONLY FOR A MORAL AND RELIGIOUS PEOPLE.

IT IS WHOLLY INADEQUATE TO THE GOVERNMENT OF ANY OTHER.

WHEN JOHN ADAMS SPOKE ABOUT A MORAL AND RELIGIOUS PEOPLE, HE SPEAKING ABOUT THOSE WHO HOLD TO BIBLICAL TRUTH ON WHICH THE CONSTITUTION IS BASED.

NOT THAT WE LEGISLATE MORALITY, BUT WE USE BIBLICAL TRUTH TO JUDGE WHETHER OUR LAWS AND ACTIONS AND LEADERS ARE JUST AND MORAL.

AND THIS LEADS TO FREEDOM WITHOUT CHAOS.

OTHERWISE BASED ON MERE OPINIONS OR MAINSTREAM THINKING OR POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY, SUCH LAWS AND ACTIONS CAN BECOME ARBITRARY AND USED FOR PURPOSES THAT ARE NOT JUST AND MORAL.

AS SOMEONE SAID, IF WE LOSE THE ABILITY TO KNOW NOT ONLY WHAT IS RIGHT AND WRONG, BUT WHY IT IS RIGHT AND WRONG, THEN WE STOPPED BEING MORAL BY THE WORD OF GOD, RULERS ARE FREE TO DO GOOD BUT LIMITED IN DOING EVIL.

A PERSON WITH A BIBLE IS FREE TO TELL THE MAJORITY OR THE PRESIDENT THAT THEY ARE WRONG.

BIBLICAL TRUTH IS THE ONLY WAY TO DEAL WITH HUMAN PASSIONS.

THAT IF LEFT UNBRIDLED WILL LEAD TO CHAOS, TYRANNY AND EVENTUAL COLLAPSE, LIKE THE ROMAN EMPIRE IN GALATIANS FIVE, 19 TO 23, IT SAYS THE ACTS OF THE SINFUL NATURE ARE OBVIOUS SEXUAL IMMORALITY, IDOLATRY, WITCHCRAFT, HATRED, DISCORD, JEALOUSY FITS OF RAGE, SELFISH, AMBITION, DISHONESTY, DIVISIONS, ENVY, AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

THOSE WHO LIVE THAT WAY WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD, SUCH THINGS DESTROYED INDIVIDUALS, SOCIETIES, GOVERNMENTS, AND CIVILIZATIONS.

BUT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD IS LOVE JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, AND SELF-CONTROL AGAINST SUCH THINGS.

THERE IS NO LAW AND THERE NEEDS TO BE NO LAWS AGAINST SUCH THINGS BECAUSE THEY RELATE TO THE NATURE OF OUR CREATOR, OUR SAVIOR, AND OUR GOD WHO IS PERFECT AND GOOD.

EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD BEGINS WITH HIM AND HIS WORD NEVER LEADS US ASTRAY.

LET'S PRAY FATHER, AS A COMMUNITY, AS AN AND AS A NATION, WE NEED YOU TO LEAD US.

SO ALL OF THESE FOLKS THAT ARE IN THESE LEADERSHIP POSITIONS GUIDE THEM BY YOUR TRUTH.

AND WE'LL THANK YOU IN JESUS NAME.

AMEN.

THANK YOU, SIR.
