HAVE OUR INVOCATION THIS EVENING FROM PASTOR JOHN GWAI OF THE COMPASSION FREE METHODIST CHURCH AT 68 75 OLD TROY PIKE IN HEBREW HEIGHTS.

THIS EVENING, I PLAN TO SHARE WITH YOU VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE, NOT MESSAGES THAT WE PREACH IN THE CHURCH, BUT IS FOR ORAL PARENTS.

YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE AWARE THAT OUR CHILDREN ARE PREPARING TO GO TO SCHOOL.

SO THE PA, THE PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO HELP THEM TO BE SMART PEOPLE.

THAT'S WHY I WANT TO BRING THIS WORD FROM THE WORD OF GOD.

UH, WE READ THE PROVERBS, CHAPTER 22.

I, I'M SURE EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS, THIS SCRIPTURE.

PROVERBS CHAPTER 22, VERSE SIX.

IT SAYS THIS, TRAIN A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO.

AND WHEN HE'S OLD, HE WILL NOT TURN FROM IT.

THIS IS CORRECT, THIS IS TRUE.

AND THEN I WILL SHARE WITH YOU ALMOST FOUR THINGS YOU WILL KEEP IN YOUR MIND SO THAT WHEN YOUR CHILD IS GOING TO SCHOOL, YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS.

NUMBER ONE, YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT THE CHILD NEEDS PARENTS.

CHILDREN NEED THEIR MOMS CHILDREN, NEEDS THEIR DADS.

SO YOU ARE IMPORTANT PEOPLE TO YOUR CHILDREN.

BEFORE I BECAME A PASTOR, I WAS A TEACHER IN SCHOOL, TEACHERS.

I TAUGHT ABOUT FIVE YEARS.

AND THEN I WENT TO STUDY ABOUT, THIS IS MY WORK, WHICH I'M DOING NOW.

UH, WHEN YOU ARE HELPING A CHILD TO LEARN, WHERE HE BECOMES VERY SMART, AND HE GOES IN THE FINISHING UNIVERSITIES, SOME OF THE PEOPLE WE HAVE WHO CAME, CAME IN THIS COUNTRY, WHOM I TAUGHT IN SCHOOL, I WAS AMAZED TO MEET THEM IN MY CHURCH.

SOME OF THEM ARE THE DOCTORS.

AND WHEN THEY CAME TO SEE ME, I WAS SO HAPPY AND HEAR WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

I WAS SO GLAD.

THIS IS THE CHALLENGE I WANT TO GIVE YOU AS A PARENTS.

SO, NUMBER ONE, PARENTS NEED TO GIVE INSTRUCTIONS TO THEIR CHILDREN WHEN THEY ARE PREPARING TO GO TO, TO THE SCHOOL, TO THEIR SCHOOLS.

GIVE THEM INSTRUCTIONS WHAT THEY NEED TO DO, AND TALK TO THEM ABOUT THEIR PHONES.

TAKE THEM AWAY FROM SCHOOL.

IF THEY WANT TO USE THE PHONES, THEY CAN USE IT WHEN THEY GET HOME.

OTHERWISE, IF THEY'RE IN SCHOOL, THEY NEED TO LEARN.

SO THE PARENTS, MOM AND DAD, YOU NEED TO GIVE YOU A CHILD INSTRUCTION.

NUMBER TWO, PARENTS NEED TO GIVE CHILDREN THE PRIVILEGE OF PERSONHOOD.

AND THEY NEED TO DO THAT BECAUSE THESE CHILDREN WILL GROW AND THEY WILL BECOME VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY.

NUMBER THREE, PARENTS NEED TO DISCIPLINE THEIR CHILDREN.

SOMETIME.

IT BOTHERS ME WHEN I MEET SOME OF THE CHILDREN, UH, HERE AROUND, OH MY GOODNESS, SAY, LORD, HELP THESE CHILDREN, HELP THEIR THEIR PARENTS.

SO YOU NEED TO DISCIPLINE YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR CHILD.

NUMBER FOUR, PARENTS NEED TO GIVE A GOD EXAMPLE TO THEIR CHILDREN.

DO YOU KNOW THAT THE, THE CHILDREN WATCH WHAT YOU ARE DOING? DO YOU KNOW THAT THE CHILDREN LOOKS IN YOUR EYES AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING? THEY KNOW PSYCHOLOGICAL, THEY KNOW THINGS ABOUT HIS MOM AND DAD, EVEN THEY'RE SMALL.

SO WE NEED, AS A PARENTS, WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF THESE CHILDREN.

WE, WE ARE GOING TO PRAY FOR THEM AS THEY ARE PREPARING TO GO TO SCHOOL WHEN HIGH SCHOOL IN THE OTHER PLACES AND SO FORTH.

SO WE NEED TO REMEMBER OUR CHILDREN TO REMEMBER THIS.

GIVE THEM INSTRUCTIONS, GIVE THEM PRIVILEGE OF PERSONHOOD, AND THEN GIVE THEM DISCIPLINE.

DISCIPLINE THEM.

AND THEN GIVE A GOOD EXAMPLE.

GODLY EXAMPLE.

THEY WILL LEARN, THEY WILL BE PROUD.

SAYING, TELLING OTHER CHILDREN THAT MY DAD IS, I LOVE HIM.

MY MOM, I LOVE HER BECAUSE SHE TREATS ME LIKE THIS.

SO PARENTS,

PLEASE HELP YOUR CHILDREN.

TRAIN THEM TO BE GODLY PEOPLE, TO BE MEN WHO WILL SERVE HERE NEW HEIGHTS.

LET US PRAY OUR HEAVEN.

AND FATHER, WE THANK YOU.

YOU GIVE US A CHILDREN, WE LOVE THEM, THEY LOVE US, BUT YOU ARE, YOU WANT US TO DO SOMETHING FOR THEM SO THAT THEY WILL GO TO SCHOOL AND LEARN MORE AND MORE.

WHEN THEY GET HOME, THEY WILL LEARN FROM THEIR PARENTS, SEEING THEM WHAT THEY DO IMITATE THEM.

LORD, WE PRAY FOR THEM.

WE PRAY FOR ALL TEACHERS WHO WILL BE TEACHING OUR CHILDREN THIS YEAR.

OH LORD, WATCH OVER THEM AND GIVE THEM KNOWLEDGE TO SHARE WITH THE CHILDREN SO THAT THESE CHILDREN WILL BE ABLE TO DO THEIR ASSIGNMENTS AND OTHER THINGS.

NOW, LORD, WE ARE PREPARING FOR ELECTION FOR 2024.

YOU KNOW WHAT WILL BE? WE ARE NOT THE ONES REALLY WHO CHOOSE THE, THE PRESIDENT.

YOU ARE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS THE HEARTS OF PERSON.

WE PRAY THAT HE WILL GIVE US WONDERFUL PRESIDENT WHO WILL, WHO WILL RULE THIS COUNTRY, THIS WONDERFUL COUNTRY.

THIS COUNTRY IS AN EXAMPLE TO OTHER NATIONS.

WE NEED A PRESIDENT WHO WILL OBEY YOU, WHO WILL DO YOUR WORK AS YOUR SERVANT.

WE PRAY FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE PREPARING TO GO TO, UH, TO VOTE.

NOW, LORD, WE REMEMBER OUR PEOPLE WHO ARE SERVING IN THIS CAPACITY OF THE CITY OF HUB HEIGHTS, POLICE, FIREFIGHTERS, AND OTHER PEOPLE WORKING THIS OFFICE.

AND ALSO, I ASK YOU TO BLESS THESE MEN AND THE WOMEN WHO ARE HERE.

THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD.

WHEN YOU GO AROUND THE HEBREW HEART, WE SEE NEW THINGS ARE HAPPENING.

IT IS BECAUSE OF YOU GIVE THEM A KNOWLEDGE TO THINK WHAT THIS CITY NEEDS.

WE PRAY FOR THEM AND WE LOVE THEM.

LORD, BE WITH THEM AS THEY ARE GOING TO DISCUSS SOME OF THE THINGS WHICH WILL THE, THE CITY YOU PERHAPS WILL BE PROFITING FROM THEM, GUIDE THEM AND WATCH OVER THEM.

I AM THE LIAISON FOR THE, UM, ARTS AND BEAUTIFICATION BOARD, AND I AM HERE TO INTRODUCE, UM, CHERYL BRANDENBURG, WHO'S BEEN ON THE BOARD A NUMBER OF YEARS AND IS REALLY THE CHAMPION OF THIS YARD BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT.

SO, UM, I'M GONNA PLAY A VIDEO OF THE PHOTOS OF OUR NOMINEES FROM THIS YEAR.

THEY WERE GRACIOUSLY DONATED BY LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHER JAY HARTMAN, WHO I KNOW HAS HELPED OUT IN THE PAST.

AND THEN AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE VIDEO, UM, WE HAVE SOME AWARDS HERE TO GIVE OUT TO THE PUBLIC.

I'VE KIND OF WORKED WITH JAY LAST YEAR, AND HE IS A VERY GIFTED PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTIST, AND THANKFULLY HE CAN TAKE A LOT BETTER PICTURES THAN I CAN.

SO ALL OF THESE, ALL OF THESE HOUSES REALLY DESERVE AN AWARD.

BUT, UH, WE, WE HAVE ONE BUSINESS AWARD, AND THEN WE HAVE A BEE FRIENDLY AWARD FOR THE HOUSE THAT HAS THE MOST FLOWERS AND ATTRACTION FOR BEES AND BIRDS.

AND THEN WE ALSO HAVE MAYOR'S AWARD.

AND THIS YEAR WE HAD THE HONOR OF OUR MAYOR PICK ACTUALLY PICKING THE WINNING HOMES.

SO THAT ALL WENT VERY WELL THIS YEAR.

SO THIS, THESE ARE JUST THE ONES SHE'S SHOWING RIGHT NOW ARE JUST THE NOMINEES.

AND THEN SHE SAID SHE WOULD STOP ON THE, THE WINNERS.

ARE YOU GONNA OH, YOU'RE GONNA PLAY IT THROUGH? YEAH.

I GUESS I SHOULD ADD, UH, THE WAY THESE HOUSES COME TO OUR ATTENTION IS, UH, THEY'RE NOMINATED BY, UM, ANYONE IN HUBERT CAN NOMINATE A HOME.

AND VERY RARELY ARE THEY NOMINATED BY THE PERSON THAT OWNS THE HOME.

THEY USUALLY, THE NOMINATIONS COME IN FROM NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS AND CHILDREN, .

AND, UH, SO A LOT OF THE TIMES WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO OWNS THE, THESE HOUSES WHEN WE GO TO VISIT 'EM.

BUT WE TRY, WHEN WE TAKE PICTURES, WE ALWAYS KNOCK ON THE DOOR AND HOPE SOMEBODY WILL ANSWER SO THAT WE CAN LET THEM KNOW THAT WE'RE NOT JUST STALKING THEM, THAT THERE IS A PURPOSE.

UM, I'M NOT ALWAYS SURE THAT THE PEOPLE THAT ARE GETTING, THAT ARE BEING NOMINATED EVEN KNOW THAT THERE IS SUCH A PROGRAM OUT THERE.

BUT IT'S POSTED ON OUR CITY WEBSITE AND, UH, USUALLY RUNS ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF TO TWO MONTHS THAT YOU CAN MAKE NOMINATIONS.

AND THEN WE, WE MAKE THE, THE ACTUAL ARTS AND BEAUTIFICATION BOARD MAKES THE SELECTION FROM THE NOMINEES.

THAT'S MY BABY , VERY BE FRIENDLY.

YOU KNOW, WE, WE KNOW THAT THE YELLOW SIGNS AND THINGS LIKE THAT, WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH THOSE PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE TO CUT THE GRASS OR DON'T LIKE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR PROPERTIES.

SO WHEN WE SEE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY GO THE EXTRA MILE AND REALLY TAKE CARE OF WHAT THEY HAVE, UM, IT REALLY ENHANCES THE ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD, AND IT HELPS TO ENHANCE THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY, WHICH IS ONE OF THE REASONS ARTS IFICATION COMMISSION DOES THESE AWARDS.

AND I'M HOPEFUL THAT WE CAN EXPAND THESE AND MAYBE EVEN BREAK THIS DOWN TO WHERE WE CAN HAVE MULTIPLE RECIPIENTS PER, PER WARDS AND, AND, UH, AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

JUST BECAUSE AS YOU, AS EVERYBODY CAN SEE ON THOSE PHOTOS, THERE ARE SEVERAL, SEVERAL HOMES WHO ARE, WHO ARE DESERVING.

SO WE HAVE FIREFIGHTERS, NEIL DEF FLURY, STEVE GETZ, MARK HAHN, AND ADAM POOLE, WHO WERE ALL PROMOTED TO LIEUTENANT.

THESE HAVE BEEN IN EFFECT AND GOING ON SINCE SUNDAY.

SO THE SITE PLAN RECOMMENDATIONS, UH, THAT WERE WERE MADE WERE INCLUDING, UH, STREET TREES BE PROVIDED AT 40 FOOT INTERVALS ALONG RED BUCKEYE DRIVE.

AND THEN THE, UH, 50 FOOT INTERVALS ALONG CARRIAGE TRAILS PARKWAY.

UH, THE APPLICANT, UH, SHALL PROVIDE AN EASEMENT ON THE SOUTH SIDE FOR A, UH, MULTI-USE PATH CONNECTION.

UM, THE SECONDARY ENTRANCE, UM, ORIGINALLY WAS TO BE CONSTRUCTED EITHER ON CARRIAGE SHELLS PARKWAY OR ON RED BUCKEYE DRIVE.

AFTER A CONSULTATION WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, WAS DECIDED IT WOULD BE ON THE VERY SOUTH SIDE OF THE SITE, UH, OFF OF RED BUCKEYE, UH, DRIVE.

AND THEN WE WANTED TO SEE INCREASED LANDSCAPE, UH, LANDSCAPE BUFFERING ALONG, UH, 2 0 1.

SO THIS IS THE REVISED SITE PLAN THAT REALLY IS NOW THE BASIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN.

AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE IS, UH, STREET TREES ALONG THE PERIMETER OF THE SITE.

WE'VE INCREASED THE BUFFERING AND LANDSCAPING ON THE EASTERN EDGE.

UH, THE ENTRANCE OFF OF GRANT PIKE IS ELIMINATED.

UH, WHAT YOU SEE THERE IS, IS THE DRIVEWAY THAT EXISTS.

YET AGAIN, YOUR COUNCIL IS MAKING DECISIONS FOR OUR COMMUNITY DECISIONS WITHOUT ACCOUNTABILITY.

WE IN BETHEL TOWNSHIP, MIAMI COUNTY CANNOT VOTE YOU OUT OF OFFICE, NOR CAN WE SIGN A REFERENDUM TO OBJECT TO YOUR VOTE.

YOUR COUNSEL IS DECIDING AND VOTING ON THINGS THAT AFFECT OUR SCHOOLS AFFECTS OUR DESIRE, DESIRED PURPOSE TO MAINTAIN OUR RURAL LIFESTYLE.

MY EXAMPLE IN THE PAST HAS BEEN A GENTLEMAN'S CLUB OR A CANNABIS DISPENSARY.

SO THE IDEA THAT A PROPERTY OWNER HAS THE RIGHT TO DO WITH THEIR PROPERTY AS THEY SEE FIT IS JUST A TERM OF CONVENIENCE.

USED TO TRY AND CONVINCE A QUESTIONING PUBLIC USED IN AN ATTEMPT TO RATIONALIZE, LEGITIMIZE THE ANNEXATION LAWS AND PROCESSES BECAUSE OF GREED.

CURRENT ANNEXATION LAWS ARE BEING ABUSED AND MANIPULATED.

I'M ASKING YOU TO VOTE NO TO ANY AND ALL HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS ON ANNEX LANDS LOCATED IN MIAMI COUNTY, BETHEL TOWNSHIP, WHICH WILL HAVE WHAT OUR CITIZENS, OUR THREE TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES, OUR THREE MIAMI COUNTY COMMISSIONERS BELIEVE WILL HAVE NEGATIVE EFFECTS ON OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND CHOSEN LIFESTYLE.

BUT WE HAVE, WE DID NOT SET UP A, A LIGHTING DISTRICT FOR THIS.

WE ARE, UH, GOING DOWN THE PATH OF SETTING A LIGHTING DISTRICT UP ON EXECUTIVE BOULEVARD TO, UH, TO DO DECORATIVE LIGHTING THERE.

UM, THAT PROJECT, OUR FIRST ESTIMATE IS JUST SHY OF A, YOU KNOW, IT'S ABOUT $800,000.

SO, UM, THAT'S WHY, AND, AND THE AGREEMENTS THAT WE HAVE WITH THE OTHER DEVELOPERS ALONG EXECUTIVE IS THAT THEY'LL PARTICIPATE IN THE LIGHTING, UH, ASSESSMENT, UH, DISTRICT, UH, IN THIS CASE, UM, WE JUST DECIDED THAT THIS WAS JUST, WE COULD DO IT WITHOUT THE, THE, THE ASSESSMENT 'CAUSE OF THE DNCE.

SO I CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND SOME OF THE RESIDENTS CONCERNS, BUT I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO THINK THAT WE'RE JUST, HEY, BLOWING $275,000 ON LIGHTING.

I MEAN THAT, THAT MONEY THAT'S THERE, THAT'S BEING SPENT IS GENERATED BY THE TIFF REVENUE AND TIFF REVENUE HAS TO BENEFIT THE ACTUAL TIFF DISTRICT THAT IT'S COMING FROM.

AND THIS WAS PART OF THE, THE AGREEMENTS THAT WE HAD WITH THE LIBRARY AND WE'RE CONTINUING THE DECORATIVE LIGHTING THAT WAS ALREADY THERE ALONG MIAMI VALLEY WAY.

UM, SO, YOU KNOW, EVERYBODY BOUGHT INTO THE REDEVELOPMENT OF, OF THIS, THIS AREA.

PART OF IT BEING AESTHETIC UPGRADES WITH THE DECORATIVE LIGHTING RATHER THAN JUST THE, UH, THE STANDARD LED COBRA HEADS.
