UH, ONE AS WAS MENTIONED LAST WEEK, THE RIPRAP ROAD IS CLOSED FOR THE TESTING OF THE WELL THAT IS ONGOING.

UM, SO THAT IS, UH, YOU KNOW, IN PROCESS AND WE'LL TRY TO GET THAT COMPLETED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND GET THE ROAD BACK OPEN.

UM, ALSO, UM, AS PART OF AN AGENDA ITEM TYPE THING.

UM, I, I SPOKE WITH MS. DAVIDSON ABOUT THE ARTS AND BEAUTIFICATION UPDATE.

SO THEIR, UH, THEIR COMMISSION MEETING LAST NIGHT WAS CANCELED AND THERE WAS SOME ITEMS THAT SHE WANTED TO FINALIZE TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THAT DISCUSSION TONIGHT.

SO HER REQUEST IS TO PUT THAT OFF AND NOT HAVE THAT DISCUSSION TONIGHT.

UM, BUT TO COME BACK WITH FINAL, UH, DISCUSSIONS ON SOME OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT ARE STILL COMING UP THIS YEAR, LIKE THE, UH, CHRISTMAS CONCERTS AND THINGS LIKE BIKES IN THE HEIGHTS ABOUT THOSE FOR TONIGHT'S AGENDA ITEM K IS IT WAS REVIEWED AND WE HAVE NO UPDATE.

UM, ALSO, UH, AS A, UH, A REMINDER THIS SUNDAY AT, UH, ON, UH, THE STATION 22 ON BRENT PIKE, THERE IS THE FIRE DIVISION OPEN HOUSE.

UH, SO THAT IS FROM 1230 TO 3:00 PM.

UM, LIKE I SAID, AT THE, UH, THE MAIN STATION THERE ON BRANT PIKE, UM, UH, WORD OF NOTE, THEY WILL HAVE SOME OF THEIR DISPLAYS AND SOME OF THE THINGS ABOUT THE CONTROLLED BURNS THINGS, BUT THEY WILL NOT BE GIVING TOURS OF THE FIRE STATION ITSELF.

UH, SO THIS IS BASICALLY AN OUTDOOR AND IN THE BAY EVENT, UH, GODFATHER'S PIZZA WILL BE THERE AGAIN.

UM, SO THERE WILL BE THINGS FOR THE KIDS TO DO AND THINGS TO SEE, BUT, UM, UH, FOR SAFETY REASONS RIGHT NOW, UH, THEY WILL NOT HAVE SOME OF THE INDOOR ACTIVITIES THAT THEY'VE HAD IN THE PAST.

UM, ALSO, UM, AT THE LAST MEETING, THERE WAS A GENTLEMAN THAT CAME AND SPOKE ABOUT, UH, THE CONSTRUCTION GOING ON UP IN WINDBROOK.

UM, SO, UH, THERE WAS, UH, THIS PAST WEEKEND, UM, THAT'S WHAT THEY HAD BEEN TOLD, UH, NO CONSTRUCTION BEFORE 9:00 AM.

AND IF THEY DID, THEN IT WOULD BE SUBJECT TO THAT.

WE WOULD NOT ALLOW THEM TO HAVE ANY CONSTRUCTION ON SATURDAYS AT ALL.

WELL, WE RECEIVED WORD THAT THEY WERE DOING CONSTRUCTION PRIOR TO 8:00 AM.

UH, SO, UM, MR. BERGMAN AND I HAD A DISCUSSION ON MONDAY MORNING AND, UH, HE HAS PASSED THE WORD ON TO THE CONTRACTORS THAT THERE WILL BE NO CONSTRUCTION WORK TO BE DONE ON THE WEEKENDS IN THE WINDBROOK SUBDIVISION THAT THE, THIS TIME NOW, UH, THANK YOU, SCOTT.

I THINK THAT'S AWESOME.

WE ALSO HAD THE DISCUSSION ABOUT, UH, LOOKING AT OUR, UH, REGULATIONS AND GOING TO HAVE FUTURE CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THINGS, UH, PUNISHMENTS AND ABOUT WHAT FINES CAN BE LEVIED, THOSE KINDS OF THINGS.

SO, UH, THAT WAS BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION THAT I GUESS THERE WAS SOME SOCIAL MEDIA DISCUSSION.

UM, BUT, UM, I HAD A DISCUSSION WITH, UH, OUR CODE ENFORCEMENT MANAGER, MR. MAILLARD, AND WE WILL BE REVIEWING OUR EXISTING CODE AND WE'LL COME BACK WITH RECOMMENDATIONS ON, UM, WHAT SOME OF THOSE OPPORTUNITIES ARE BECAUSE CURRENTLY, UM, THE DON'T HAVE A CODE IN FRONT OF ME, BUT BASICALLY IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS, ANYTHING OVER A ONE TON VEHICLE, UH, CAN'T BE PARKED IN YOUR DRIVEWAY WHILE THERE'S NOW, UH, TH THAT WAS WRITTEN BACK IN THE TIME, PRETTY MUCH PEOPLE HAD SEDANS AND THOSE KINDS OF THINGS.

SO A LOT OF THE, UM, MAYBE SOME OF THE TREES AND THE BRUSH ALONG THAT AREA COMING AROUND WHERE TAYLORSVILLE COUNTY TURNS INTO RIP RAP, GETTING THEIR CLOTHES IN FRONT OF WHERE THE WATER DEPARTMENT'S AT, IF THAT AREA IS CLOSE TO TRAFFIC NOW, UM, YOU MAKE SOME OF THE SIGNS THAT WE HAVE.

THERE ARE EVEN KIND OF LITTLE, MAYBE COVERED UP BY SOME OF THE BRUSH THERE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

COULD WE GET, UH, PUBLIC WORKS DOWN THERE AND TAKE A LOOK AT THAT, JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT THE LINE OF SIGHT COMING AROUND TAYLORSVILLE TO THAT OTHER PART AND OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE RIVER IS NOT ENCOURAGING HIM TO THE ROAD TOO MUCH.

SO I'M HERE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE.

SO SCOTT, IS THAT SOMETHING THAT YOU WERE GOING TO TAKE, AND THAT WAS CHIEF AMONG REMEMBER QUESTIONS? ARE WE, UH, IS THIS A PRESENTATION MAYBE THAT WE NEED TO MOVE ON UNTIL IT CAN BE HERE? OR WHAT DO WE HAVE? SO BASICALLY OUR CURRENT POWER 9 1 1 SYSTEM IS REACHED ITS END OF USEFUL LIFE.

SO THE REQUEST IS TO MOVE FORWARD OUT OF THE, UH, UH, THE NINE 11 FUND, UM, $157,000 COST, UM, TO IN THIS NEW SYSTEM HAS ENHANCEMENTS THAT ARE PART OF THE UPGRADES TO THE COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION.

SO, UH, THIS IS JUST, UH, TO MAINTAIN OPERATIONS, TO UPGRADE THE SYSTEM AS IT IS NOW, IT'S REACHED ITS LIFESPAN.

THEY HAVE REPROGRAMMED A LOT OF THE, UM, HOW QUICKLY THE DISPATCHERS CAN PICK PHONE NUMBERS OR TRANSFER THOSE KINDS OF ENHANCEMENTS.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT IS A COMPLETE UPGRADE OF LIKE SERVERS.

ABSOLUTELY ALL THE HARDWARE.

SO THIS IS BRAND NEW HARDWARE FOR THE WHOLE THING.

SO, UM, MOST IMPORTANT OF WHY I WOULD, IT'S GOOD TO EVEN STAY WITH INTRADO IS THE DISPATCH WAS ALREADY TRAINED ON IT, THEN ENHANCEMENTS.

THEY DO SUCH A GOOD JOB OF THE ENHANCEMENTS, UM, WILL BE VERY MINIMAL TRAINING FOR THE ENHANCEMENTS.

UM, SO THE, THE DISPATCHERS, IT WILL JUST BE QUICKER FOR THEM.

I MEAN, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A SIMPLE ANSWER, BUT THAT'S TRULY IT.

IT'S GOING TO BE QUICKER FOR THEM.

I THINK RESPONSE TIME IS WHAT, UM, EMERGENCY SERVICES ALL ABOUT SAYING THAT MAKES US QUICKER, UM, TO GET TO A CALL, TO PICK UP A NUMBER TO DISPATCH OR NEEDS TO BE DISPATCHED.

I THINK THAT'S, UM, FROM A SAFETY PERSPECTIVE, UM, YOU KNOW, KIND OF, YOU HAD ME, HELLO, YOU HAVE ME A QUICKER, ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? OKAY.

I HAVE A FEW ITEMS FOR YOU.

AND, UM, I KNOW IT'S BEEN SEVERAL MEETINGS SINCE I GAVE YOU A HANDOUT AT YOUR SEATS, BUT I DID GIVE YOU A ONE HANDOUT TONIGHT.

ONE ADDITION THAT CAME UP AND I WILL GET TO THAT IN A MINUTE.

UH, FIRST OF ALL, I'D LIKE TO SAY THAT, UM, YOU KNOW, AS YOU KNOW, WE'RE DOING, UM, UM, ON THE EAST SIDE OF TOWN, WE'RE DOING THE WATER LINE AND SEWER LINE EXTENSIONS.

SO WE NEED TO BUDGET FOR THAT.

IT LOOKS LIKE THE EXPENSES I'VE GOT IN YOUR SUPPLEMENTAL TONIGHT SHOULD COVER US FOR THE DESIGN WORK.

THAT'LL TAKE THE REST OF THIS YEAR.

UM, ANY CONSTRUCTION AND BEYOND THAT WOULD, UM, WE WOULD COME TO YOU NEXT YEAR.

UH, WE'LL EITHER BUILD IT INTO THE BUDGET IF WE HAVE A GOOD ESTIMATE AT THAT TIME, OR WE'LL COME BACK TO YOU WITH A SUPPLEMENTAL WHEN WE KNOW A GOOD, SOLID DOLLAR AMOUNT.

SO WHAT I'M ASKING FOR TONIGHT IS $175,000, UH, FOR THE WATERLINE PORTION, UH, THAT'LL BE A TRANSFER FROM THE ARPA FUND AND $280,000, UH, FOR THE SEWER PORTION OUT OF THE SEWER CAPITAL FUND.

AND THAT WILL BE A TRANSFER FROM THE SEWER FUND BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE OUR REVENUE SOURCES ARE.

UH, WE'VE ALSO HAVE A $21,000 FOR AN INCREASE TO FUEL FOR THE FIRE VEHICLES.

I THINK WE ALL KNOW, UH, FUEL COSTS ARE UP THIS YEAR.

I DID TALK TO THE OTHER DEPARTMENTS, THE POLICE CHIEF, UH, MIKE GRAY.

UH, THEY HAD ENOUGH MONEY IN THEIR BUDGET TO FIRE AS I JUST HAD MORE RUNS THAN THEY THOUGHT.

AND SO THEY NEED $21,000 MORE TO GET THROUGH THE END OF THE YEAR FOR FUEL.

UM, THEN I ALSO HAVE, UM, UH, WE RECEIVED OUR FIRST SELECTION IN PLACE, TIF, UH, REVENUES.

SO THE THERE'S A PORTION OF THAT THAT NEEDS TO, UM, MAKE A PILOT PAYMENT TO THE SCHOOLS.

AND SO WHAT I'VE GOT IN HERE IS THE, THE ACCOUNTING EXPENSES, WHICH IS THE FEES THAT ARE CHARGED BY THE COUNTY FOR COLLECTION FOR THIS, AS WELL AS A PILOT PAYMENT TO THE SCHOOLS, A TOTAL OF $162,410 AND 24 CENTS.

AND AS I SAID, THE COLLECTIONS ARE, UH, UH, ABOVE THAT AMOUNT.

I BELIEVE THAT LEAVES THE ADDITIONAL $75,000 ABOVE THAT AMOUNT.

UH, AND, UM, THE NEXT ITEM IS A $6,875,450.

AND THAT AS YOU KNOW, IS WE JUST DID THE REFINANCING OF THE AQUATIC CENTER BONDS.

AND SO THIS, UH, WAS NOT IN THE BUDGET TO PAY THAT OFF.

SO WE NEED TO PAY THAT OFF.

AND OF COURSE THAT'S COMING FROM THE PROCEEDS FOR SELLING THE, DOING THE REFINANCING.

SO, UH, THAT IS COVERED BY THAT.

SO THAT REALLY IS NOT A NET INCREASE TO THE BUDGET.

THEN NEXT ITEM IS A A HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR DESIGN MODIFICATIONS TO THE CHAMBERSBURG ROAD, WIDENING PHASE FOUR PROJECT THAT WAS REQUESTED BY THE CITY ENGINEER'S OFFICE.

UH, NEXT ITEM IS $360,141 FOR THE ENERGY LEASE IMPROVEMENTS.

UH, YOU KNOW, WE DID THE 100 ENERGY LEASE LAST YEAR AT $3 MILLION, AND THEN WE ADDED THE FIRE COMPONENT FOR STATIONS 22 AND 23, AND THAT WAS NOT IN THE BUDGET.

SO THIS WE'LL PUT THAT IN THE BUDGET SO THEY CAN TAKE CARE OF THAT PROJECT.

AND THEN A $14,550 FOR SALARY EXPENSES FOR THE NEW FIRE INSPECTOR THAT WAS NOT IN THE 2021 BUDGET.

UH, THAT'S JUST THE PORTION OF THAT SALARY THAT COMES OUT OF WATER.

THERE WAS ENOUGH MONEY, UH, FROM OTHER, UM, UH, FROM THE FIRE PORTION FOR THAT PORTION OF THE SALARY.

I THINK ONLY 10% OF THAT SALARY COMES OUT OF WATER.

AND THEN THE ONE AD I HAD TONIGHT, UH, COUNCIL MIGHT REMEMBER A LEGISLATION EARLIER THIS YEAR THAT YOU PASSED FOR $125,000 FOR IMPROVEMENTS OUT AT THE MUSIC CENTER.

UH, WE DID NOT INCREASE THE BUDGET AT THAT TIME.

WE WANTED TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT THE ACTUAL COSTS WERE GOING TO BE.

AND SO I COME TO YOU TONIGHT WITH, UH, AN ADD ON OF $46,086, AND THAT'S FOR THE SAM SOUND PANEL INSTALLATION.

SO I WOULD ASK THAT THAT BE APPROVED.

AND, UH, OBVIOUSLY WITH SOME OF THESE, WITH THE, ESPECIALLY WITH THE ENERGY LEASE IMPROVEMENTS AT THE FIRE STATION, WE WANT TO GET THOSE MOVING.

SO IF YOU COULD PASS THIS ON MONDAY NIGHT, I AM SURE THE FIRE CHIEF AMONG THE OTHER DEPARTMENT HEADS WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE THAT.

IS THAT MORE OF A CONSERVATIVE, SAFE NUMBER? IS THAT A NUMBER THAT CAN INCREASE POTENTIALLY? UH, IT IS POSSIBLE EACH YEAR.

WE DO LOOK AT, UM, HOW SALARIES ARE A PORTION BETWEEN DIFFERENT FUNDS.

AND, UH, AND OBVIOUSLY WHEN I GO THROUGH THE AUDIT, UH, THE AUDITORS ARE ASKING FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION FOR ALL OF THOSE PERCENTAGES AND WHETHER THEY'RE HOW THEY'RE DETERMINED.

SO PURSUANT TO COUNSEL'S REQUEST, WE HAVE INCLUDED FOR YOU, UM, IN THIS PARTICULAR PACKET, AND WE WOULD ASK THAT YOU MOVE IT FORWARD ON MONDAY, UH, THE LIST OF THE VARIOUS VEHICLES THAT WOULD BE SUBJECT TO THIS FIRST GROUP OF LEASES.

ALSO A WOODWARD WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT THIS YEAR WAS ACTUALLY THE SAME AS WHAT WE SUBMITTED LAST YEAR.

IT'S FOR CHAMBERSBURG ROAD.

THIS IS GOING WEST.

THIS WOULD BE FROM OLD TROY PIKE, GOING WEST TO THE COUNTY OR THE CITY CORP LINE, WHICH HAS JUST PASSED INTO ENDICOTT.

UM, WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO THERE IS WIDEN THE ROAD, SIMILAR TO WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING ON THE EAST SIDE, ON CHAMBERSBURG, THREE LANE ROAD WITH A, UH, THIS FOOT AT THIS TIME, AN EIGHT FOOT BIKE PATH ON THE NORTH SIDE, WHICH IS THE SAME AS THE EAST EAST END.

AND THEY MAY REQUIRE US NOW TO PUT A SIDEWALK ON THE OTHER SIDE.

WE'RE NOT SURE YET, BUT, UH, WE'RE SUBMITTING FOR THAT, WHICH ALONG WITH THAT WOULD BE CUTTING THE HILL DOWN THAT SITE THERE BY, I THINK IT'S STONY CREEK.

WE CAN ONLY GO SO FAR DOWN OUT, CAUSE IT'S ALL ROCK.

UM, AND OUR SHARED RATE, 35%, WHICH IS ABOUT 1.3 MILLION.

UM, THIS APPLICATION, UH, LIKE I SAID, LAST YEAR, I DID NOT GET IT, BUT LAST YEAR WE WERE DEDUCTED FIVE POINTS DUE TO THE CHAMBERSBURG PHASE FOUR.

WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THAT PROJECT GOT DELAYED.

AND WHENEVER YOU HAVE A DELAY OF A PROJECT, THEY'D TAKE FIVE POINTS OFF THE NEXT APPLICATION.

SO THIS ONE SHOULD DO BETTER.

AND I THINK I GOT A GOOD FEELING AND WE'LL GET THE FUNDING THIS YEAR.

SO, UM, I THINK THAT'S EVERYTHING, UH, IT'S DUE IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND THEY, EVERY, EVERY APPLICATION REQUIRES A RESOLUTION PASSED BY COUNSELING.

UH, LIKE I SAID, THIS IS THE, UH, THE WATER MAIN LINING PROJECT WE DID, UH, THIS PAST TWO MONTHS.

UM, UH, LIKE I SAID, I'D GO, I'D LIKE TO GO OVER IT.

UH, THE TWO SLIDES, THERE'S NOT TOO MANY, UH, THE PROJECT DETAILS, THE PROJECT AMOUNT FOR THIS WAS 800, $10,000.

THE CONTRACTOR WAS SUEZ, WHICH IS A DIVISION OF THE SUEZ THAT WE HAVE HERE.

UM, THIS IS THE FIRST WATER MAIN LINING PROJECT IN THE MIAMI VALLEY AREA.

UM, AND MOST OF SUEZ, PREVIOUS LINING PROJECTS WERE IN EASTERN OHIO AND SOME, UH, MOST OF IT ALL EAST TOWARDS EAST COAST, THEY'VE DONE A LOT OF THEM OVER THE PAST, PROBABLY FIVE YEARS THEY'VE BEEN DOING IT.

UH, THIS PROJECT WAS ON LONGFORD, BASCOM, CLAY BACK IN CLIFFWOOD.

UM, THE HOUSES IN THAT AREA WERE BUILT IN THE EARLY 1960S, WHICH MEANS THE WATER MAIN WAS ABOUT 60 YEARS OLD.

AND IT'S A CAST IRON PIPE, WHICH IF YOU GOOGLE IT, IT'LL TELL YOU 50 TO A HUNDRED YEARS LIFE.

UM, THAT AREA OF PET LAST ONE DAY, WE HAD 30 WATER MAIN BREAKS IN THREE YEARS THERE.

I CAN SHOW YOU A MAP HERE IN A LITTLE BIT, UM, THAT AREA YOU CAN KIND OF SEE IT'S IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY.

UM, FOR SOME REASON IN THAT AREA, A LITTLE BIGGER RADIUS THAN WHAT I'M SHOWING THERE IS WHERE WE'VE BEEN GETTING THE MOST WATER MAIN BREAKS IN THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS.

WELL, KIND OF IT INCREASED A LOT SINCE

SO WE STARTED THERE, THE, UH, CONSTRUCTION ITSELF, UH, WE INSTALLED 5,400 FEET OF LINING.

UH, IT WAS MOST MAINLY SIX INCH PIPE.

THERE WAS 10 INCH PIPE ON LONGFORD.

UH, WE HAD A TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY PUT IN FOR THIS.

WE DID IT ON THE BOTTOM.

IT SAYS TWO PHASES.

WE DID BASCOM AND CLAY BACK FIRST AND GOT ALL THAT DONE AND MOVED ON TO LONGFORD IN CLIFFWOOD.

UH, THEY INSTALLED A TWO INCH PVC PIPE ALONG THE SIDEWALK.

AND, UH, WE MADE CONNECTIONS TO EACH HOUSE BY USING A HOSE FROM THAT.

AND THAT HOSE CONNECTED TO THAT WATER FAUCET ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE OR THROUGH THEIR WATER METER.

A LOT OF THE HOUSES HAD, UH, VALVES ON THEIR FAUCETS, SO THEY COULDN'T USE THOSE THAT'S WHEN THEY HAD TO USE THE WATER METER.

UH, WITH THIS PROJECT, WE REMOVED AND REPLACED ALL THE FIRE HYDRANTS, WHICH WAS EIGHT OF THEM WITH NEW FIREFIGHTERS.

AND WE MOVED TO REPLACE NINE WATER VOWELS.

UH, THERE WERE THREE CONTRACTORS ON THE JOB AT ALL TIMES.

IT WAS SUEZ DOING THE LINING, UH, CG CONSTRUCTION, DID ALL THE EXCAVATION WORK WITH THE VOWS AND HIGH-RISE REPLACEMENTS.

AND THEN BC HEATING AND PLUMBING DID ALL THE TEMPORARY PIPING OUT THERE.

THIS ISN'T A PICTURE OF HUBER.

I DIDN'T, I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS DOING A PRESENTATION.

I DIDN'T HAVE BLOOD.

I FOUND THIS ONE ON A, ON, ON A WEBSITE.

UM, BUT THIS IS THE SAME THING.

IT WAS A TWO INCH PIPE THAT WAS RUNNING EITHER IN FRONT OF THE SIDEWALK OR BEHIND THE SIDEWALK.

AND THEN AN EAST DRIVEWAY.

THERE WAS A LITTLE, UM, BLOCK THEY PUT IN, I GUESS, TO DRIVE OVER.

AND IN MOST CASES IT WORKED PRETTY WELL.

THERE ARE A FEW, UH, RESIDENTS THAT HAD LOW CARS LIKE CORVETTES AND THINGS THAT WE HAD TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THEM TO, UH, EITHER PARK IN THE STREET OR REMOVED IT UP SO THEY COULD PARK IN THEIR DRIVEWAY AT THE TIME, BUT IT WORKED OUT, UH, THE ADVANTAGES OVER REPLACEMENT.

UM, WE DID A REPLACEMENT THE YEAR BEFORE ON HARSHMAN VILLE AND A COUPLE OF STREETS OVER THERE NEAR TILBURY.

I BELIEVE IT WAS A LINING OF PIPE LINING THE PIPES.

IT'S ABOUT 75% OF THE COST OF REPLACING.

SO THIS WAS $800,000 PROJECT WOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 1.1, $1.2 MILLION PROJECT, IF WE'VE REPLACED.

UH, ANOTHER ADVANTAGE IS THERE'S NO DESIGN NEEDED.

WHENEVER WE REPLACED, WE HAVE TO HAVE ALL CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS DONE SHOWING WHERE TO PUT THE NEW PIPE, AND IT'S A LOT EXTRA TIME AND EXTRA MONEY.

UM, THE CONSTRUCTION TIME FOR THIS TOOK, UH, IT TOOK SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS, UM, VERSUS ABOUT 12 TO PROBABLY 14 OR 16 WEEKS FOR REPLACEMENT.

SO IT'S ABOUT HALF THE TIME.

UH, WE HAD NO ROAD CLOSURES.

WE WERE DOWN TO ONE LANE AT MOST TIMES.

SO, BUT EVERYTHING STAYED OPEN.

UH, THERE WAS NO WATER MAIN BREAKS DURING CONSTRUCTION.

UH, WHEN WE DID THE HARSHMAN BILL PROJECT, WE PUT A NEW LINE IN ABOUT THREE TO FOUR FEET AWAY FROM THE OLD LINE.

AND WHEN WE DUG THE TRENCH THREE TIMES, IT HAPPENED THAT THE OLD ONE WOULD BLOW OUT BECAUSE WE GOT TOO CLOSE TO IT.

AND I THINK THE SOIL MUST'VE BEEN HOLDING IT TOGETHER, I GUESS.

SO WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY OF THAT PROBLEM.

UH, THERE WAS MINIMAL SHUTTING OFF THE WATER TO THE RESIDENTS.

IT WOULD BE LIKE AN HOUR OR TWO AT THE BEGINNING.

AND THEN ONCE IN A WHILE, THEY HAD TO SHUT IT OFF FOR A LITTLE WHILE TO DO SOMETHING.

BUT IN MOST CASES, THEY HAD THEIR WATER THE WHOLE TIME AND THEY PROVIDED THEM FREE WATER FOR THE TWO TO THREE WEEKS AT EACH HOUSE.

HAD THE BYPASS PUT ON, UH, THE SPECIFICATIONS IS, UM, THIS IS AN EPOXY LINING THAT MET, UH, EPA AND S F APPROVALS.

UH, IT HAS AN ESTIMATED LIFE OF 60 YEARS NOW.

UH, THERE'S NONE IN THE GROUND THAT LONG YET.

SO WE DON'T KNOW FOR SURE WHETHER IT WOULD BE 60 YEARS.

WE'RE HOPING, UH, THE LINING IS SPRAYED ON

UH, IT WAS TOO MANY CARS, TOO MANY TRUCKS THAT EVERYTHING WAS TOO CLOSE TOGETHER.

UH, COORDINATION WAS KIND OF A PROBLEM.

THE PEOPLE WE WERE WORKING WITH HAD DONE JOBS BEFORE, BUT NEVER WORKED TOGETHER.

SO A LOT OF TIMES THE ONE CONTRACTOR DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE OTHER CONTRACTOR WAS DOING OR WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING.

SO, UM, WE NEED TO DO A LITTLE MORE NOTIFICATIONS TO RESIDENTS.

WE, WE DID PASS OUT A CARD AT THE BEGINNING.

IT HAD ALL INFORMATION ON IT AND WHO TO CONTACT.

SO, BUT I THINK WE NEED TO DO A LITTLE BETTER THAN THAT.

UM, A COUPLE OF ISSUES WE HAD WERE THE HOLES, THE ESCAVATIONS, UH, SOME OF THEM WEREN'T PLATED PROPERLY, OR THEY DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH PLATES TO COVER THEM UP AND CONES AROUND THEM TO SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE.

THE ARCHITECT IS WORKING ON REVISING THE PLANS TO HAVE WHAT WE CALL IT, THE BLANK SLATE, UM, TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE OUT TO, UH, MANY DIFFERENT GROUPS TO GATHER INPUT.

UM, ALSO, UM, FROM SOME OF THE DEMOLITION PROJECTS OUT THERE, UM, WE DID PASS AT THE LAST MEETING, THE DEMOLITION, UM, TO MOVE FORWARD WITH DEMOLITION CONTRACT FOR THE FURNITURE STORE OVER AT THESE WHAT WE CALL CR DATE AND PROPERTY THAT BACK L UH, THEY, UH, WE JUST RECEIVED WORD TODAY.

UH, THERE HAS BEEN SOME WORK ON THE INSIDE WORKING ON THE WATER.

AND, UH, I THINK I MENTIONED BEFORE, THERE WERE SOME ISSUES WITH THE SPRINKLER LINE AND SOME VALVES OR LACK OF VALVES, UM, TO BE RELOCATED.

ALSO THE MONITORING WELLS ARE IN A LOCATION THAT, UH, WE ARE, THE NEW UTILITY LINES WILL GO.

SO THOSE WILL BE REMOVED, UM, SINCE THEY HAVE NOT FOUND ANY NEW, UM, ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES THERE.

SO THAT'S ALL MOVING FORWARD.

EVERYTHING'S LOOKING GOOD ON THAT, IN THAT AREA WHERE DOGTOWN WAS GOING TO GO, THEY SUBMITTED LAST FRIDAY TO PLANNING COMMISSION, SO THEY WILL BE COMING IN OCTOBER.

UM, WE'RE ALSO, UH, HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THE SURVEY TYPE ISSUES, UM, THAT WERE DISCUSSED ABOUT WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS TO ASK THE COMBINATION OF THE SURROUNDING RESIDENTS SURROUNDING BUSINESSES AND THE CITY IN GENERAL, UH, BECAUSE IT AFFECTS EVERYBODY A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENTLY AND HOW WE'RE GOING TO GO OUT AND MARKET THAT TO GET AS MUCH INPUT AND PROVIDE, UH, HAVE MORE OF THOSE KIND OF TOWN HALLS.

UH, WE CALL THEM DESIGN CHARRETTES BACK IN THE, UH, COMP PLAN DAYS, UM, THAT, UH, TO GET AS MUCH INPUT AS POSSIBLE.

SO THAT'S BEING WORKED ON AS WELL.

UM, THE, UH, THE PORTION THAT HAS THE EXISTING BUSINESSES THAT FRONT OUT ON BRANT PIKE, THE ARCHITECT IS, UH, COMPLETING THEIR DESIGN OF THAT.

AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE'LL BE PRESENTING TO CITY COUNCIL HERE SOON TO, UH, SEND THAT OUT TO BID, UM, TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THAT IN OUR DISCUSSIONS WITH THE EXISTING TENANTS AND FUTURE TENANTS, UH, THERE HAS BEEN, UM, I'LL SAY A LOT OF INTEREST AND, UH, SOME OF THOSE ARE BEING WORKED OUT ABOUT, UH, FILLING UP THOSE EXISTING SPACES AND RENEWING EXISTING LEASES.

UH, SO THAT'S, UH, UM, KIND OF HOW THINGS ARE GOING, UM, AT OUR LAST MEETING, THE DISCUSSION, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT MR. PAUL KING WAS HERE, I DID MEET WITH HIM THE NEXT DAY.

I KNOW THERE'S, I MEAN, WE'VE HAD LOTS OF ISSUES WITH ELECTRICITY AND WATER AND POWER LINES, ALL THAT STUFF, BUT WHEN DO WE THINK THAT PIECE IS GOING TO COME DOWN? SO, YOU KNOW, THAT THE PLAN HAS CHANGED OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS AND THEY WERE, UH, TRYING TO START LAST WEEK ON IT.

UM, BUT THE WATER LINE IS WHAT'S ON THE INSIDE THAT GOES INTO THE BUILDING, IT GOES DOWN OVER, AND THEN BACK UP IN THE BUILDING AND BACK DOWN.

SO IT WAS EXPOSED THE, AND WITH NO VALVES ON IT.

SO THEY'RE LOOKING IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS TO BE ABLE TO, UH, AND THIS IS ALL CONNECTED TO THE FRONT PORTION THAT NEEDS TO STAY ON.

UM, SO WE GOT TO FIND WHERE TO CUT IT, HOW TO RELOCATE IT AS THEY ARE TAKING THE PIECES DOWN.

UH, SO THE, THE NEW CONNECTION IS GOING TO BE AT THE REAR OF WHAT STAIN AND COME OUT INTO THE PARKING LOT.

THERE'S A WATER MAIN RIGHT THERE TO MAKE THAT CONNECTION.
